We find the money and time your organization is leaving on the table.

Your organization is already on the record — tax filings, federal award data, county records, grant histories — and almost nobody reads it. We do. We investigate your records, public data and day-to-day operations to find missed funding, lost revenue and expensive processes, then show you what the opportunity is worth and what to do about it.

Every answer we give you carries a source.

Find money.

Foundations that fund work like yours and don't appear in any directory. Federal awards with end dates. Funding concentrated in one relationship that shouldn't be.

Save time.

Hours your team spends on work a system should be doing — mapped, priced, and fixed.

Tax filings, federal awards, grant histories, trustees, property records. Your question, answered from the record, with the source attached.

How this works

We start with what's true, not with what we sell.

You tell us what takes too long, breaks too often, or costs more than it should. Then we go look — at your records, your funders' records, your competitors' filings — and come back with what's actually there.

Every answer we give you carries a source. A form number, a statute, a filing, a dataset. If we can't show you where it came from, we don't say it.

Sometimes the fix is software you already pay for and aren't using right. Sometimes it's a process rebuilt. Sometimes it's money you qualify for and never applied to. And sometimes we look and find nothing worth fixing — that's a shorter conversation, but it's an honest one.

What this looks like · free, no signup

Type one EIN into the free toolbox and it comes back with what the IRS and federal spending records actually hold on that organization — classification, required filing, revenue on record, federal awards and their end dates — with the source named under every answer. That's the free version. The paid engagement finds what the record means for you and what to do about it.

  1. Investigate. We pull your public record and, with your permission, your internal numbers.
  2. Quantify. Every finding gets a dollar figure or an hours figure. No vague opportunities.
  3. Recommend. What to do, in what order, and what each step is worth.
  4. Help execute. We don't hand you a PDF and disappear. We stay for the part where it actually changes.

Capabilities

What we do

Nonprofit funding packages

A complete funding workup for organizations that are better at the mission than at asking for money.

Most small nonprofits ask the same donors they asked last year, while private foundations sit on money the tax code requires them to pay out — 5 percent of their non-charitable-use assets every year, or they owe an excise tax on what they kept. Every one of those foundations files a public return listing the grants it made and naming its trustees. Plenty of them have no website and no application portal, which is exactly why searching for them turns up nothing.

  • Funders matched to your work. Foundations with a track record of giving to organizations like yours, what they gave, and how to approach them.
  • The people behind the money. Trustees and board members named in public filings, so a cold proposal becomes a warm conversation.
  • Government funding you may be missing. County, state and federal dollars set aside for work like yours — federal awards are searchable by recipient and end date, and county-level money like opioid settlement allocations is voted on in public meetings long before anyone applies for it.
  • Help making the ask. What to say, who says it, and how to follow up — until it stops feeling like begging.

A list is worthless if nobody makes the call. We stay on it until someone does.

Before you talk to anybody — including us — run your own organization through the free nonprofit toolbox. Look up what the IRS actually has on file for your EIN, check which 990 you're required to file, see how much of your funding depends on one relationship, and find out which free software programs you qualify for.

Operations and broken processes

The thing everybody complains about and nobody has time to fix.

Double entry between systems. A report somebody rebuilds by hand every week. Scheduling that runs on memory and text messages. Paperwork that moves at the speed of whoever remembers to move it.

We map what's actually happening, find where the hours go, and put a dollar figure on it. Then we fix it — with automation, better use of tools you already pay for, or a vendor we bring in.

Revenue and new business

Business you should be winning and aren't.

Leads that go cold because nobody followed up. Quotes that take three days when a competitor's takes an hour. Customers who bought once and never heard from you again. Pricing that hasn't moved while your costs have.

We look at where business enters and where it leaks, then tell you which gap is worth closing first.

Finding the answer to something specific

Research you don't have time to do.

Who's funding work like ours. What our competitors charge. Which regulation applies. Who actually makes the buying decision at that company. Where the grant money went last year.

Public records hold far more than most people realize. We know where to look, and we cite where every answer came from.

Results

We hold ourselves to the standard we hold everyone else's claims to.

Our first engagements are in the field now. We publish results only with the client's permission and only with numbers we can source — so this section stays empty until we've earned what goes in it.

Why NextPhase exists

The answer was usually already sitting there.

I kept watching organizations make expensive decisions while the answer sat in their own systems or in public records nobody had read. NextPhase exists to do the digging most teams don't have time for — and to turn what we find into something you can act on.

I'll tell you the truth about what we find, even when it's not what you hoped. Every claim we make carries a source — including the ones on this page.
